Srinagar, Sep 23 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested four extortionists who were threaten people and extract money from them using a toy pistol in Anathnag district of south Kashmir.
Four Extortionists identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mantoo son of Mohammed Ayoub, Javaid Ahmad Mantoo son of Aijaz Ahmad Mantoo, Janbaz Ahmad Dass son of Mohammed Sabir Dass and Ummer Ahmad Dass son of Bashir Ahmad, all residents of Waghama Bijbehara.
Giving details, a police officer told Srinagar based news agency Global News Service (GNS) on a credible input, Anantnag police arrested 04 individuals who were masquerading as militants and were extorting money from people have been arrested during a naka.
Officer said that the initial investigations revealed that they were using a toy pistol to threaten the innocent commuters and extorting money from drivers in and around Bijbehara National Highway.
