Ganderbal: The Construction of road near Public Health Centre (PHC) Lar under the R&B department has come under scanner after residents alleged that heavy boulder and substandard material is being used in the work.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch that the contractors are using heavy boulders and substandard material in the construction of roads in the area.
“The concerned contractors are using heavy boulder and sub-standard material. These contractors openly violate rules by using unapproved material. We appeal to the concerned departments to take action against the unscrupulous contractors,” one of the local residents alleged.
The locals also alleged that no government employee is visiting the construction site for inspection.
While as experts said that using such kind of material is not feasible for the construction of the protection wall. Experts and locals have urged higher authorities to look into the matter
When Contacted Executive Engineer R&B Zaffar Qureshi he told Kashmir Despatch that he will look into the matter. He added that strict action will be taken against the violators.
