Date:

Srinagar : The army on Wednesday said that Pakistan is pushing militants from the LoC, International Border and also from the third countries and the launch pads are full with the “infiltrators” who are ready to sneak and disrupt the peace in Kashmir.

According to news agency the army also said that two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were apprehended in Gulmarg along with the material used for making IEDs on August 21 and the duo are residents of Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Addressing press conference at Army’s Srinagar based 15 Corps headquarters here, General officer Commanding (GoC) 15 Corps, Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhilon, who was flanked by Additional Director General of Police Law and Order Munir Khan, said: “We are facing infiltration attempts from every where—at the LoC, International Border, and also from Panthankote and third countries.

All the launch pads are full and militants are ready to sneak in to this side to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere here.”

The GoC Dhilon said that almost every night there is an infiltration attempt. “So far, not a single infiltration attempt has been successful. We killed some infiltrators and their bodies were not even picked up by the Pakistan army despite the fact that we took up the matter with the DGMO of Pakistan,” he said.

He said that on August 21, two Pakistani nationals, who are associated with the Lashkar-e-Toiba were apprehended in Gulmarg sector. “The arms, ammunition and the material used to trigger IEDs was recovered from them. The duo is in our control and this reflects that how desperate Pakistan is to disrupt the peace in Kashmir,” General Dhilon said.

About the Gulmarg Sector, General Dhillon said that based on specific, general inputs and rumours also, some 350 search operations were conducted. “It is our duty to take note of the rumours. Today, I can tell you that Gulmarg is peaceful and there is nothing like as the rumours were spreading.

I invite the media to visit the Gulmarg and stay wherever they wish to and report about the tourist destination,” he said.
