Family members of fresh Covid-19 patients quarantined, put under observation

Srinagar, Mar 28, : Government is busy in hunting for those who have returned Valley but concealed travel history.

Official sources told news agency that special teams have been constituted to look for these persons who are reluctant to reveal travel history. 

A Government official said besides looking for these fellows, authorities are also sending teams to different areas, persuading family members of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases to get tested and quarantined. 

Official added that 17  more relatives of different positive cases were shifted to JLNM Rainwari Hospital. “These members were quarantined and put under observation,” he said.   

The confirmed Covid-19 cases in Kashmir have surfaced from Khanyar (1), Natipore (3), Bandipora (5), Bemina (2) and Chatabal (2). Some of the affected persons including a toddler came into contact with positive patients having travel history.

Reports said that the family members of every confirmed cases have been quarantined and put under observation.

An official said that given the movement of confirmed patients, there are apprehensions that more Covid-19 cases may surface in the coming days. He advised people to stay indoors and asked people with travel history to self-report.   

The native areas of fresh Covid-19 patients have been sanitized and people have been advised to take utmost care.   

Meanwhile, reports from Rawalpora, in Srinagar outskirts said two females who recently landed in Srinagar from Italy refused to follow the directives of Health team. An official said that everyone having travel history will be quarantined. (KNT)
