ANANTNAG, Aug 23: A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in Chandpora Kenelwan area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a pedestrian identified as Ghulam Mohi-u-ddin Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather a resident of Chandpora Kanelwan Bijbehara was injured when a vehicle hit him near Chandpora on Tuesday afternoon, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead.

Locals speaking to Kashmir Despatch said that Mohiuddin was a father to four young daughters and a son who is 18 years old. Meanwhile, Police registered a case under the FIR number 148/2022 and started an investigation.

A pall of gloom descended when the news about this mishap reached the native village of the deceased. People from all walks of life poured in to offer their condolences to the bereaved family.
