Fatima Tu Zohra from Bandipora Wins State-Level Chess Championship, Qualifies for Nationals

Srinagar, May 23: Fatima Tu Zohra, a young chess prodigy from Bandipora district, clinched the top position in the state-level chess championship held at Indoor Stadium, Srinagar. She secured a gold medal in the Under-13 category at the tournament, organized by the All J&K Chess Association under the auspices of the All India Chess Federation.

The championship saw participation from talented players across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Fatima dominated the competition after a series of intense rounds, showcasing her strategic prowess and consistency.

Having previously represented Jammu and Kashmir in two national-level chess championships, Fatima has now earned a spot in another prestigious national event following her latest triumph.

Her remarkable performance highlights her dedication to the sport and steady growth in competitive chess. Fatima continues to hone her skills through rigorous training and participation in tournaments, aiming to gain further experience at the national level.
