Fine Waive off: Kashmiri Students’ body Expressed Gratitude to MHRD Ministry, Uttrakhand Govt

J&K Students Association, a body of Kashmiri Students’ outside here on today expressed Gratitude to MHRD Ministry, Uttrakhand Govt for waiving off the fine. In a statement, Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said that MHRD Ministry, Uttarkhand govt has paid its valuable attention towards the fact that the Kashmiri students studying in Dehradun would not have to pay even a single penny in the account of fine.

He said that, Our association were also accompanied the state government team, adding that the colleges had softened their stand after the matter reached the national media. I must admit that colleges in Dehradun have waived the fees by now, after intervention from MHRD Ministry and State Govt. He said that, the colleges were very sudden in changing their decision. Earlier, they were not ready to budge but once the matter appeared on the national media, they changed their approach. They assured that they won’t take fines from any student.

He said that, the Centre has asked the Uttarakhand government to ensure that students from the Kashmir Valley are not harassed by private colleges for shortage of attendance and non-payment of fees. He said that, Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy spoke to HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal regarding the problems faced by the students. Following the intervention by the HRD Minister, the authorities in Uttarakhand inspected the colleges and the matter was resolved, he said.

He expressed gratitude to MHRD Ministry, Uttrakhand Govt, SSP Dehradun Arun Mohan Joshi and DM Dehradun Ravi Shankar for their immediate intervention and took a fair care in this matter, adding that their diligence, self-motivation, dedication to achieve the results is really admirable. Their efforts are significantly appreciated by Association, he added further.
