Fire breaks out in Sopore forests

SOPORE, Feb 24: A fire broke out in a forest in the upper belt of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that the situation was out of control when a massive fire broke out and engulfed an area of around 1 Km in Rampur Rajpora within no time, adding that residents were trying their best but were finding it difficult to contain the fire, the reports said.

Speaking to Kashmir Despatch, a forest official said that teams have been pressed into service and efforts are at a high level to put control on fire. He said besides our forest protection force teams, teams from fire and emergency services are also on the job.

When filled this report the fire in the forest was on, however no loss of life or any injury
