Sixth anti-militancy operation in just seven days

Sopore, Nov 08 : After a brief pause, gunfight resumes again between militants and government forces in Panipora area of north Kashmir’s Sopore.
Officials sources told Kashmir Despatch that during the searches fresh firing started again as contact was established with hiding militants in the wee hours of Friday again.
A senior official informed Kashmir Despatch that the encounter had ensued on Thursday evening and was suspended due to darkness. With the first ray of the morning, the firefight resumed again.
He said two militants are believed to be trapped.
This marks the third anti-militancy operation in the northern region of Kashmir within the last 24 hours, following the killing of two Pakistani terrorists in two separate gunfights in the Bandipora and Lolab forests on Wednesday.
The first week of November saw the conduct of six anti-militancy operations across the Kashmir Valley, resulting in the killing of five militants.
