Baramulla : Scores of Kashmiri pandits on Monday assembled at Deputy Commissioner officer Baramulla to protest against the recent militant threat letter.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, Rakesh Pandita said that we were appointed under prime minister pakage long back in 2012, and today we all assemble here to raise our issues.
He said many employees appointed through this pakage are yet to get accomdation which is serious concern.
The other protestors also raised issues related to accomdation and their protection.
They said after the militant threat letter, eveyone here is feeling insure and are appealing to all security agencies including administration to look into this issue.
Meanwhile, the protesting Kashmiri pandits group submitted the memorandum to DC Baramulla of which a copy lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, Memorandum

Subject: Concern of Package Employees after “threat Letter.
Respected Sir,
Most respectfully, we the members of All PM package employees of
your aistrict want to bring into your intormation that on 12 April,
2022, Veervan Pandit Colony received a” threat Letter by post
which was later handed over to concerned SSP of the district for
proper investigation of the matter. We hope that your benign selt
may be aware of the tact and matter. Therefore, it becomes
necessary for the administration to address certain key issues related
to migrant employees working in your district to build confidence
among them. we hope tor your kind consideration and immediate
action regarding resolving iSSues or employees particularly after the
recent threat Letter
1.AN ISSUE OF ACCOMMODATION
ne government has provided transit accommodation to package
employees at Veervan Pandit Colony but it was not sutficient to
accommodate all employees .Therefore, a very good number of
employees including females have left with no option but to hire
rooms at selected places in the district despite they being
unaffordable for them and also not safe.
we are optimistic that every employee will get transit
accommodation once the project of constructing quarters Will be
Over. But, till its Completion, we demand that the government must
provide an accommodation to rented employees at district
headquarter keeping view of their security and safety. This kind of
approach from the administration can repose faith of employees in
the administration, both civil and police, and also give them
confidence to work without any fear and tension.
2.TRANSFER OF EMPLOYEES
We also demand that numbers of package employees of diferent
departments are working at far off places in the district which is a
great concern for all of us. We urge your good self for their
immediate transter at and around the district headquarter so that
they can feel a sense of security.
REVIEW OF SECURITY
We believe that the government may has taken all necessary steps to
ensure security of migrant employees living in several transit camps
as well as on rented accommodations but once again we request
concerned agencies to review security of migrant employees on a
periodic basis to avoid any kind of untoward incident.
