Forces defuse IED in north Kashmir

Srinagar : Government forces on Saturday defused an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by suspected militants on a roadside in north Kashmir’s Handwara village averting a major tragedy.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a major tragedy was averted when the security forces detected and defused an IED planted on the road in Wataaain area of Handwara” in north Kashmir Kupwara district.

SSP Handwara Ashish Mishra also confirmed this development to Kashmir Despatch.

Pertainally a joint team of forces including Army , CRPF and SOG Handwara were part of this successful operation.
