Forces launch search operation in Pulwama, Sopore villages

Pulwama, Oct 21 : Security forces on Wednesday afternoon launched a cordon and search operation in South Kashmir’s Pulwama village and in north Kashmir’s Sopore village.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a joint team of Army’s 55 RR , SOG and CRPF sealed Koil area of Pulwama and conducted house to house searches in the area.

An official told Kashmir Despatch following inputs about the presence of some militants search operation has been launched in the area.

Pertinent to mention here that three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in Hakripora area of South Kahsmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

As reported by this newspaper, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar has said that this group was involved in the attack on CRPF party in which two CRPF troopers were injured.

He has said “We succeeded in killing the attackers within 24 hours with the help of coordination between joint forces and human intelligence in place”. IGP has added.

Meanwhile, Internet services in parts of Pulwama remained suspened since yesterday evening following the gunfight to maintain law and order problem in the area.

Meanwhile, sources informed Kashmir Despatch that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, SOG and CRPF sealed Sadipora area of Sopore and conducted searches in the area.

Searches in the area was on when this report was filled.
