My name is Touseef Raina. I had the honour of serving as President of the Municipal Council of Baramulla from 2021 to 2023. I have devoted my short life of 32 years to promoting patriotism, peace, and civic improvements among the youth of Kashmir, doing so tirelessly for more than 15 years.
I am writing to you today on behalf of numerous dedicated and aspiring youth from Jammu and Kashmir who are inspired by a fervent desire to serve our beloved nation through the Civil Services.
A key concern that a very large number of them have brought to my attention is the age relaxation of five years that was granted to candidates from Jammu and Kashmir in the UPSC examinations until 2019.
Full of hope and enthusiasm for the transformative changes that you brought about that year, they have even greater zeal to serve their country and its people. So, they feel disappointed that their prospects have become limited in the absence of that age relaxation.
Given the huge challenges faced by the youth in our mountain region, their heartfelt request is for the reinstatement of the age relaxation, at least temporarily for the next few years. A very large number of youth would be positively impacted if you were to very kindly take this step.
It would be a visionary and inspiring step. For, reinstating the age relaxation in UPSC examinations in light of the myriad setbacks previously faced by the youth in Jammu and Kashmir would strategically channel the potential of our youth towards integration, nation-building, and fulsome participation in public life.
I am confident that your sagacious leadership and commitment to the welfare of every citizen will prompt a thorough consideration of my humble request. Your support for reinstating the age relaxation would be a beacon of hope for the aspiring youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
