Four personnel of (MARCOS) rescued after boat capsized in Wullar Lake

Sopore : Four personnel of Marine commandos (MARCOS) who were part of an anti militancy operation on Tuesday were rescued from Asia’s fresh water Wullar Lake after their boat capsized due to strong windstorm here in North Kashmir’s Sopore.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that during an anti militancy operation, four Marine commandos (MARCOS) drowned in Walur lake in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district as one of the boats capsized after a gusty windstorm hit the area.
Soon after the incident, a rescue team reached the spot and rescued all the drowned personnel safely.

SSP Sopore Shabir Nawab confirmed the incident to Kashmir Despatch and said all the drowned soldiers were rescued, however some of their belongings are missing and an operation is underway.

Pertinently gusty winds hit parts of North Kashmir this evening causing damage to rooftops.
