Sopore : Nineteen civilians were injured as suspected militants hurled a grenade in North Kashmir’s Sopore town on Monday evening.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that four women among nineteen civilians were injured in a grenade attack near a bus stand in Sopore town of Baramulla district on Monday.
Hospital authorities while sharing the details of injured civilians to Kashmir Despatch identified them as Javeed Ahmed Sofi, Asadullah, Ishfaq Ahmed , Ashoor Ahmed , Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, Brashir Ahmed , Barkat Ahmed , Rabia Begum, Irm Begum, Samina Begum , Farooq Ahmed , Nisar Ahmed , Shafat Ahmed , Jabeena Begum, Adnan, Shakir Ahmed Dar, Abdul Khaliq. The officials further said that one lady was seriously injured and has been referred with other five injured to a hospital in Srinagar. The others are undergoing treatment here in Sopore sub district hospital.
The forces have cordoned off the area and launched an operation to nab the attackers locals reports said.
Meanwhile police through a tweet also confirmed the incident and said that “#Militants lobbed a #grenade on #civilians at #BusStand #Sopore. 6 #civilians sustained #injuries. Information is preliminary in nature,” Kashmir police said on Twitter.
