Sopore : The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. Sehrish Asgar Wednesday visited Sopore subdivision and held a public darbar to check the status of various developmental schemes.
This is her fourth visit to the town after assuming charges of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla.
According to locals the frequent visits of Dr. Sehrish Asgar has raised hopes of people in the subdivision and are hopeful for speedy completion of developmental works in the subdivision.
“Earlier, the district heads used to ignore Sopore subdivision entirely. Sopore was neglected on a developmental front but the frequent visit of Dr. Sahiba is proving helpful as we are witnessing change on the ground level,” said Abdul Rasheed, a resident of Sopore.
He said that people of Sopore have full faith in her and thanked Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. Sehrish Asgar for taking so much interest in the overall development of the subdivision.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla while addressing the gathering of people said that people need to accommodate one another for the development of an area and make it a vibrant place.
“We need to work together for the development of the town. Internal skirmishes and fights won’t do any good to the town, you people need to work together and listen to one another for the overall development of the town. And it is our collective duty to work for the development,” DC Baramulla told the locals of Sopore.
Municipal Council Sopore President Masrat Kar told Kashmir Despatch that we the people of Sopore are very much thankful to DC Baramulla who pays frequent visits to Sopore and it is proving beneficial for the town and people.
She thanked the people of Sopore for showing maturity while dealing with their issues.
She however appealed to the people of Sopore to cooperate with the district administration for hasty dispersal of their issues.
The locals while hailing the efforts of Masrat Kar said that after assuming charges of President MC Sopore she is working on a right path.
“It is because of her that Sopore is witnessing a change. DC Baramulla has visited four times within a couple of months and developmental projects are going on a war footing basis and for that we thank Masrat Kar,” they added.
