Srinagar : While clearing confusion over recently passed legislations by the Country, BJP National General Secretary and point man of Kashmir affairs on Thursday said that “People of entire country should not get panic as these laws are not against any community”. He added “It is opposition and other communal forces who are spreading chaos and inciting people to violence”.

BJP senior leader and point man of KashmirRam Madhav while addressing a press conference in Srinagar appealed people country including Jammu and Kashmir that they shouldn’t get panic about newly passed legislations like NRC, CAA and others. He said “people of entire country should not get panic as these laws are not against any community living in India”.

Madhav said, “my message to people of Jammu and Kashmir is that government of India took some vital decision recently but after passing of these laws, a misinformation campaign is being spread to lead people into chaos and confusion”. He added, “in several parts of country people are being swayed with an aim to create large-scale trouble”.

He said I request my countrymen that NRC, NPR or CAA are not against any community living in India rather these laws have been made only to give citizenship rights to those refugees who came to India from years after facing religious persecution from neighboring countries.

BJP leader added number of people have come to India due to multiple reason like famous singer Adnan Sami. He said Sami got Indian citizenship only when he qualified the criteria set up by the country.

According to Madhav, when Indian’s were persecuted and thrown out by Yoganda government in past, government of India took immediate steps and gave citizenship rights to them.

He said “Congress and other communal forces are spreading lies about NRC, NPR & CAA and forcing people to resort violence but I request to my countrymen “don’t pay heed to their words”.

Madhav said NRC is a routine exercise of government since years and it is actually an “extension of census” to get updated about the details of people living in the country. He said it was UPA government who introduced the same in 2010 but later on it was not extended. In 2015 the law was revised and similarly in 2021 the government need to get updated about the dwellers living across the country.

He clarified that “the law will benefit poor people without any religious consideration but opposition and other communal forces are creating confusions. He added “those creating trouble over these laws are going against the poor people living across the country”.

When asked about the highhandedness of UP Police while dealing law and order situation, BJP leader denied the allegations and said it is opposition and other communal elements who want to defame Modi government. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already clarified that no discussion has taken place over NRC. He added “under the directions of Supreme Court (SC), NRC was implemented in Assam”. He clarified that NPR has no relation with NRC so people should not get panic.

Over the continuous detention of mainstream political leaders in Valley, Madhav said state administration is mandated to take the decision of their release at an appropriate time. He said releasing political leaders is ‘ongoing process’ and it is continued. Some have been released and some are yet to get freed.

BJP leader said he will take up the issue of frequent power cuts in Valley during bone-chilling winters with administration and will ensure the redressal of issues.

“Gradually things will restore and you people will get internet facility back”, Madhav said over a query.

It is pertinent to mention that BJP leader Ram Madhav had arrived Srinagar to take part in the football match ceremony organized by State’s Sports Council. The first football match happened between Real Kashmir Football Club and Chennai Football Club.

“I am a fan of Real Kashmir Football Club team, though I reached here 5 minutes late but RKFC were waiting of my presence and they shoot 2 goals in my presence. I congratulate RKFC and wishing of their bright future”, Madhav said. (JKNS)
