Parents, Guardians Asked to Keep Children Away from Dangerous and Unprotected Locations

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 24: Amid growing concerns over water-related accidents, the District Administration Ganderbal has issued a fresh advisory urging residents to refrain from bathing and swimming in Nallah Sindh and other unsafe water bodies across the district.
The administration has particularly appealed to parents and guardians to keep a close watch on children and prevent them from entering nallahs, rivers and other water bodies, especially at locations where there are no safety arrangements or supervision.
Through the advisory issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, parents have been urged to educate children about the risks associated with deep and fast-flowing water, which can become hazardous without warning.
The administration has also advised families to ensure that children remain under responsible adult supervision during holidays and leisure hours and do not venture towards water bodies on their own.
The warning comes at a time when water bodies across Kashmir continue to attract people seeking relief from the summer heat. Officials said that bathing or swimming at unprotected locations can pose serious risks, particularly for children and those unfamiliar with local water conditions.
The advisory has been circulated among concerned authorities, including the Police, SDM Kangan, Tehsildars, information authorities, Municipal Council Ganderbal and the District Control Room, for necessary action and wider dissemination among the public.
The administration has appealed to residents to take the advisory seriously and cooperate with authorities in preventing accidents and protecting lives.
Officials reiterated that parents and guardians have a crucial role in ensuring the safety of children and urged them not to allow minors to enter Nallah Sindh or any other dangerous and unprotected water body.
