Ganderbal police presents charge-sheet against 6 accused persons under ULA (P) act before court

GANDERBAL, May 16: Ganderbal Police Saturday submitted a charge sheet against six accused persons including a Pakistani militant who was killed in the encounter at Kullan in 2019 before the court. The case was registered at PS Gund in 2019 under ULA(P) Act and pertains to militant activities.


The accused include Farooq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Kullan, Rayees Ahmad Lone resident of Gund, Nisar Ahmad @Batchi resident of Hajin, Tariq Ahmad Ganai resident of Fraw Haknar, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Kangan & a Pakistani militant Zargam @Talha who was killed during an encounter at Kullan in 2019.


As per the police investigation they were allegedly involved in actively supporting and assisting the active militancy in the area, harboring of active militants and providing logistic support besides transporting them from one place to another. As per the investigation their involvement has been established in unlawful activities. 


Pertinently one of the accused Nisar @Batchi as per police is affiliated with LeT while another co-accused from Pakistan Zargam @Talha was killed in the encounter at Kullan.


Based on the evidence collected during the course of the investigation, they have been found to be involved in the militancy activities, and accordingly while pursuing the investigations a charge sheet was presented before the court. All the five accused are lodged in judicial custody.
