Gang of drug peddlers busted in Pulwama, lady among 4 held: Police

Pulwama, 8 Feb : Jammu and Kashmir police said to have busted a gang of drug peddlers by arresting Four persons including a lady in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered 5 grams of brown sugar and 350 gms of charas from them.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that yesterday Pulwama Police laid a naka at Litter near Government Higher secondary school. During naka checking an auto load carrier bearing registration number JK13G- 7307 coming from Litter towards Naina, was signaled to stop. After noticing the Police Party, the driver of the auto load carrier tried to escape from the spot, however police party tactfully apprehended him and the all the persons riding in the vehicle also apprehended.

During their search, 5 grams of Brown sugar and 350 grams of charas were recovered from their possession. All the accused persons including a lady were arrested and the vehicle used for the commission of crime also seized.

The accused persons identified as Tauseef Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad ganai, resident of Chotipora pulwama, Junaid Ahmad Malik son of Gh Mohd Malik, resident of Rangmulla pulwama, Tahir Ahmad Joo, son of Nazir Ahmad Joo resident of Khonmoh and Mst Suraya Jeelani daughter of Gh Jeelani Shah, a resident of Bagaat Barzulla At Present Rawalpora Srinagar.

To this effect, Case FIR NO 05/2023 u/s 8/20,29 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Litter and investigation set into motion, he added.
