BANDIPORA, June 21: As LG government in Jammu and Kashmir is taking various steps to promote unexplored tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, in a remote village of Zurimanz Bandipora, these steps are providing employment opportunities to the local community.
Locals, while speaking with the Kashmir Despatch, said that they are thankful to the local Administration of Bandipora and Wular Conservation Management Authority (WUCUMA) for doing developmental works in Asia’s second largest freshwater lake.
Several youth said that after constructing Selfie and Gazebo points in Wular lake the tourism flow has increased which has created employment opportunities for the local fishermen community of the villagers who live on the banks of Wular.
“The beauty of Wular lake is natural, as compared to Dal tourists should visit here as this is a breathtaking place without traffic jams and noise,” Gurpreet Singh, a tourist from Punjab, said.
Meanwhile locals as well as tourists appealed to authorities to upgrade the road leading to the Gazebo point as it had been submerged after water level increased in Wular lake.
