GDC Tral organized seminar on one earth, one family, one future

PULWAMA, Feb 13: Government Degree College Tral, as part of Jan Bhagidari activities and to celebrate the G20 presidency of India, organized a one day seminar on ONE EARTH, ONE FAMILY, ONE FUTURE, in which more than 100 students and faculty members participated. The seminar began with an inaugural-cum-welcome address by the worthy principal Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, in which, besides welcoming the resource persons and the participants, he highlighted the importance and ramifications of India’s presidency in the G20.He reminded the audience that, for India, the G20 presidency also marks the beginning of Amrit Kaal, leading up to the centenary of its independence, towards a futuristic, prosperous, inclusive and developed society, distinguished by a human-centric approach at its core.

There were three resource persons   invited for the seminar. The first resource person, Prof. Aadil Rehmaan, Co-coordinator IQAC, deliberated on the G20 and Financial Sustainability. He also highlighted how investments can be means of sustainability.

The 2nd resource person, Dr. Shaheen Khursheed, HOD Zoology talked about the Standard of Life & Diseases  in our country. With the help of his valid arguments he explained that on one hand as a country we have been successful in making our agriculturalists self-reliant and self-sustainable, but on the other hand the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides have led to some chronic diseases like Cancer. He stressed upon the need to switch to alternative ways of farming like Organic one which will surely decrease the prevalence of these dreadful diseases among the masses.

The 3rd resource person Dr.K Mubashir Qayoom, HOD Biochemistry  in his presentation explained the causes, symptoms and prevention of Diabetes. He shared the current statistics of this so-called Sweet Disease in India. He explained the various effects which are aggravating this diseases in local population.

The entire proceedings of the seminar were conducted by Convener, Debates, Seminars and Cultural Committee–Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Dar and Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. Muhammad Aabid Shah, NSS Programme Officer.
