PULWAMA, Aug 2: Government Degree College Tral students on Tuesday brought laurels in the District Pulwama Wushu Championship organised by Wushu Association Pulwama at Indoor stadium, Rajpora in the district.
As per an official in GDC Tral, the college got ‘winner’s trophy’ as participants from the said college secured 22 medals in different weight categories. The breakup of the medals is as: GOLD-6, SILVER-8, BRONZE-8.
Principal of the college, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone praised the performance of the students in the championship and assured them full support from the College in order to achieve new heights.
The Principal also highlighted the importance of sports in day to day life as means to achieve physical fitness as well as the source to stop youth from drug abuse.
In the end, Principal Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone congratulated the participants from the college and also praised the hard work of the physical education department of the college for always bringing laurels to the college.
