Girl falls from bridge in Handwara, dies

Handwara: A minor girl lost her life on Friday in an unfortunate incident when she fell from a bridge in north Kashmir’s Handwara.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a 5-year-old girl while returning from school in the Mawar area of Handwara, fell from a bridge and was critically injured.

However, she was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. 

A police officer confirmed this incident to Kashmir Despatch and identified the deceased girl as Aliya Rafiq, daughter of Rafiq Ahmad Chachi, resident of Nowgam, Mawer.
