GoI mulling a ‘big package’ for J&K, announcement soon

Srinagar, Jan 27 : In a bid to start fresh developmental works in Jammu and Kashmir, the central government is mulling to announce a big package for Union Territory, reliable sources said, adding that the package would likely be announced soon. The package entails three E’s—Employment, Education and Empowerment.

According to the wire service— reliable sources said that the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have decided to announce a big package for Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to start a new beginning of development here.

Sources said that the package is being announced in wake of the promises made by the government wherein it had stated that following abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status (Article 370), the Union Territory of J&K will usher a new development.

The reliable sources further added that the officials in the Jammu and Kashmir administration have been asked to identify the works in the Union Territory, which would ensure basic facilities to the people.

Earlier, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi during his recent visit to Srinagar had also told in an interview that a major package by the government of India is on cards, saying that the announcement in this regard will be made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Pertinently, 36 central cabinet ministers visited Jammu and Kashmir and inaugurated many projects funded by the government of India. Almost all the Union Ministers who were J&K stated that the Jammu and Kashmir will see a new dawn of development. (KNO)
