Date:

Mir Arshid

BUDGAM, Aug 29: The authorities have failed to complete the construction of the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in  Wahabpora, a village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district even after two years. The people are continuously waiting for its completion.

The locals of the village told the Kashmir Despatch, that the construction work of the health centre in the village started five years ago, but unfortunately the work of the building stopped three years back.”

They further added that the building has now turned into a drug mafia site where drug addicts roam around and inside the premises of the building.

A local at Wahabpora Budgam, Zeeshan Haider told the Kashmir Despatch, that several villagers of the area are facing hardships to reach the district hospital Budgam  for the treatment but this is unfortunate that the concerned department failed to complete the building.

While talking to Kashmir Despatch sectional officer (SO) from the health department Budgam , Mubarak Mir said:  “We have already taken up the issue with Director Health Service Kashmir (DHSK) for release funds for the building and also assured that the work will be started soon.”
