Govt. notifies engagement of Nurses in Medical colleges across J&K on outsourcing basis

SRINAGAR: Amid available vacancies, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered engagement of nurses in Government Medical Colleges in Srinagar and Jammu and their associated hospitals.


As per the order issued by the Health and Medical Education Department a copy of which lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, “During the visit of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar on 8th August, 2020, the Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar highlighted the need for engagement of Nursing Orderlies against the available vacancies to address the shortage of Class-IV staff in Government”.


It added, “Medical College, Srinagar and its Associated Hospitals in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic and whereas the Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar accordingly, vide communication NO.MC/P!an/COVID-19/1473-78 dated 10.08.2020 submitted a proposal to the Administrative Department, justifying the need for engagement of Nursing Orderlies on outsourcing basis”.


“Whereas, the Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu also vide No.AHJ/2020/3612-3613 dated 10.08.2020 submitted a similar a proposal for engagement of 100 Nursing Orderlies on outsourcing basis with justifications to deal with the work load at the Class-IV level caused due to COVID-19 pandemic”, the order reads.


“Whereas, the proposal was examined in the Health and Medical Education Department, also with reference to its financial implications and it was found that such engagements against the available vacancies can be made on outsourcing basis at the rates as are being provided by the National Health Mission (NHM), J&K in such cases, which works to Rs.9527/-, per person per month”, it said.


“Whereas, the proposal, also indicating the financial implications, was placed before the Competent Authority Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, who has been pleased to approve the engagement of 100 Nursing Orderlies each for Government Medical Colleges, Srinagar and Jammu (total 200) on outsourcing basis, through National Health Mission (NHM), MK, on the rates as are being provided by NHM, J&K in such cases”, the order reads.


Now, therefore, sanction is hereby accorded to the engagement of One Hundred (100) Nursing Orderlies, each for Government Medical Colleges, Srinagar and Jammu (total 200) on outsourcing basis, through National Health Mission, J&K, @ Rupees Nine Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty Seven (Rs.9527/-) only, per person per month, which are the rates being paid by NHM, J&K in such cases.


The outsourcing arrangement shall be for a period of six (06) months or till the posts are filled-up through the Selection Agency, whichever is earlier reads the order copy.
