Govt. sanctions fee structure for various medical courses in J&K

Fee structure to be reviewed after every five years

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday, sanctioned fee structure for various medical courses which are being offered in Government Dental Colleges, Ayurvedic Medical College, Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) and General Nurse Midwifery (GNM) colleges in the Union Territory.


As per the order issued by the Health & Medical Education Department the government sanctions fixation of fee structure for BDS, BAMS, ANM and GNM courses which are being offered in Governmental Dental College Srinagar, Jammu, Government Ayurvedic Medical College Jammu and ANM, GNM schools of Jammu and Kashmir.


For BDS courses, in first-year fee structure have been fixed to Rs 26, 250, while for next three years, the fee has sanctioned as Rs 6,250. For MDS courses for the first year, the fee has been fixed as Rs 25,000 and for next three years, the fee has been sanctioned as Rs 1,500.


For Diploma in Dental Hygienist, the fee has been sanctioned as Rs 10,000 and fee structure for courses in Ayurvedic Medical Jammu has been sanctioned as Rs 26,500 for the first year and Rs 15, 575 for the second year and for pre-final and Final BAMS the fee has been sanctioned as Rs 6, 250.


While for ANN/GNM schools in J&K the fee structure has also been sanctioned. For F.M.P.H.W/M.M.P.H.W courses fee has been sanctioned as Rs 4,000 for General Nursing Midwifery the fee has been sanctioned as Rs 9,000, for Medical Assistant (Pharmacist) the fee has been sanctioned as Rs 6,000.


And for courses like Laboratory Assistant, Dental Assistant, X-Ray Assistant, Ophthalmic Assistant, O.T Technician, Anesthesia Technician and ECG Technician courses which are of two years, the fee has been sanctioned as Rs 6,000. It is pertinent to mention here that as per the order, the sanction shall be subject to the condition that the fee structure shall be reviewed by the department after 5 years.
