Gunfight likely as forces launched search operation in Pattan village

Pattan, Sep 18 : Government forces on Friday morning sealed Pattan village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that additional reinforcements of army and Special Operation Group of police have been rushed to Gohiwa village in Pattan area as chances of encounter between forces and militants believed to be holed up are rife.

A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that search operation in the area is going on.

He said that as of now no contact with militants has been established.

Earlier, army’s 29 RR and SOG have launched a cordon-and-search operation at Gohiwa area of Pattan village following specific information about the presence of militants inside a residential house.

Pertinently, earleir this month three militants were killed in Pattan village.
