Srinagar, July 04: A Gunfight broke out between hidding militants and government forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Sunday afternoon.
A police officer told Kashmir Despatch a Gunfight started between militants and security forces at Arreh Kulgam. He said earlier this day a joint team of Armys 34 RR, Kulgam Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of some militants.
The officer said after hours search operation a searching party was fired upon by hidding militants which was retaliated by this side thus triggering a gunfight.
The firing from both sides was on when last reports came in.
