Gunfight rages in Saloosa village

Batamulla, August 22: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Saloosa village of Baramulla on Saturday.

SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom confirmed to Kashmir Despatch that contact has been established with hiding militants and firing from both sides is on.

Earlier, A joint team of Army’s 52 RR, SOG, and 176 Bn CRPF sealed Saloosa village of Baramulla following inputs about the presence of some militants.
Pertinently, earlier this week three militants were killed in a 32-hour long gunfight at Kreeri Baramulla.


While earlier a day three security forces personnel were also killed after militants fired on the Naka party in the area.
