Shopian, Mar 09 : An encounter broke out between militants and security forces at Reban area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An Official told Kashmir Despatch a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in Reban village of Shopian early this morning.
They said that during the search operation, the hiding militants fired upon the search party, which was retaliated, thus leading to a gunfight.
Officials further stated that the gunfight is going on and Army’s 1 RR and police are on job.
Sources said one militant was killed in an initial exchange of fire, however officials said as of now we can’t say anything as firing is going on both sides.
