Gunmen Fire Upon Wife, Daughter Of Policeman In Verinag Anantnag

Srinagar, July 20 : Unknown gunmen suspected to be militants fired upon wife and daughter of police constable in Verinag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday night, officials said.

Official sources told GNS the militants fired upon the wife and daughter of Sajad Ahmad Malik, constable in police at Kokagund Verinag, leaving both of the critically injured.

The injured identified as Malik’s wife Naidha Jan and daughter Madhiya were removed to District Hospital Anantnag, the officer said. However they were shifted to GMC Anantnag for specialized treatment. It was not immediately known if Malik was at home at the time of incident. Emerging story. More details awaited. (GNS)
