Gurez valley have potential to touch Bollywood Screens: Onir an award director

Bandipora, May 26 : Indian Army ‘s 3rd Assam regiment in Gurez valley of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district in collaboration with famous bollywood director Onir organized a 10 day workshop on filmmaking for border youths of Gurez valley.

The workshop being attended by around 15 students including girls from Gurez valley and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking with the Kashmir News Service (KNS), Shaheena a local B.A student selected for the workshop by bollywood director Onir while thanking Indian army for providing her the opportunity said the girls in border areas usually were restricted to only house hold works.

She also said that the lush green forest and mountains of Gurez valley from decades are attracting bollywood directors to shoot their movies in Gurez.

She further added that Gurez valley have lot of potential to shoot for bollywood movies. “After learning from where i can motivate more girls to learn filmmaking skills,”.

“The workshop will equip us with the filmmaking skills which will provide us the opportunity in future to work with more directors, it will also increase employment opportunities for unemployed youths,” Aamir student said.

Another local youth, Lateef Ahmad lone while sharing his experience said that the initiative is providing them opportunity to work with famous directors and cinematographers, they will not only learn film making skills but how professional teams work behind the camera.

“Gurez is unique places in view of its geographical, cultural and traditions that make it fit for bollywood shoots. The natural beauty of Gurez which keeps me attracted to this place my aim is to teach these border students with the filmmaking skills so that they can be independent in their lives and promote the culture and tradition of Gurez valley,” Year the award winning director Onir said to KNS.
