Srinagar, April 07: Heavy rains accompanied by hailstorm lashed parts of Kashmir including summer capital Srinagar this afternoon.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said It was a cloudy afternoon in the city on Tuesday, however around 3: 10 PM hailstorm followed by fast rains witnessed in parts of Srinagar city.
However, no damage to any property was reported immediately.
Earlier Metrological department has forecasted rain with a thunderstorm in some parts Jammu and Kashmir for one week.
MeT in a statement said rain with thunderstorm is likely to continue at scattered places of J&K (mainly towards late afternoon and evening ) during the next 3 days whereas weather most likely to remain mainly dry during 11-12th. Thereafter, another spell is likely during 13-14th Light snow is also possible at some places of the Zanskar region of Kargil dist. during the above periods. There’s no forecast of any heavy rain /snow during this week.
