Demands blacktopping of main road

HAJIN, Sep 18: Trade body Hajjin of north Kashmir’s Bandipora District on Friday were up in arms against Roards and Bulidings Department (R&B) for its failure to macadamise the main road leading to town.
While expressing its anguish towards the department the trade bodg assembled at main chowk Hajjin and blocked the Bandipora-Hajjin main road to highlight the long pending demand.
Raising slogans against the concerned department for their fake hopes and promsies which as per trade body all time added in their sufferings.
“Main road Hajjin is without macdamisation which proves failure of the department to mitigate sufferings of people. The dilapidated condition of our roads has earned our town a bad name which has bee repelling customers besides giving a tough time to the locals,” the protesting traders told Kashmir Despatch.
They said: “Why only we are being put to suffering in this digital age when roads are a top priority for every government.”
Trader body president Mushtaq Ahmad told Kashmir Despatch over the phone, “Enough is enough. How much more we should suffer because of the bad condition of our roads. It has always degraded ghe value of our town which has made our lives more mesirable.”
He expressed dismay over the dilapidated condition of the main road in town saying that “for last 15 years the road has not been macadamised and they suffer a lot due to the bad condition of the road”.
The president said the road is always troublesome as cars slip over the muddy road during rainy days .
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent the protest ended peacefully after SDM and Tehsildar concerned assured them of redressal of this issue.
Meanwhile an official at R&B department told this newspaper that matter will be redressed at earliest as department is working round the clock for the welfare of people.
