SRINAGAR, Dec 1: Under the nationwide “Sense of Duty Campaign,” a cooking competition themed “Hamari Rasoi Hamari Zimmedari” was successfully held today at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Srinagar. Organized by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the event celebrated culinary creativity while emphasizing the critical importance of safe LPG handling practices.

The cooking competition is part of the Basic Safety Check Campaign, launched on March 5, 2024, which aims to cover over 12 crore households across the country through free door-to-door inspections of LPG installations by trained personnel. So far, over 8 crore households have been inspected, with approximately 3.5 crore old or non-standard hoses replaced at discounted prices.
Today’s event attracted 15 young participants, who impressed judges with their innovative dishes while adhering to LPG safety protocols. The winners were awarded in a ceremony that also highlighted the importance of responsible cooking practices.

In addition to recognizing the cooking talents of participants, the event honored 15 exemplary frontline LPG delivery personnel from Srinagar. These individuals were lauded for their dedicated efforts in raising awareness about LPG safety among consumers during the campaign.

The event concluded with a strong message on the importance of safe LPG use in everyday cooking. The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants, judges, and attendees for their support in making the event a success and contributing to the campaign’s mission.
