HAJIN, Dec 19: A specially-abled young boy in Hakbara village of Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday participated in the 8th and final phase of DDC and Panchayat by-elections to fulfill his long pending demand of availing a three-wheeler scooter.
Sajad Ahmad Bhat, 25, hailing from Hakbara area of Bandipora, can not walk as both legs are disfunctional after he suffered a Polio attack.
While talking to Kashmir Despatch, Sajad said that he does not have anyone who can take care of himself.
He said that he is moving from pillar to post for the last several years to get a three-wheeler scooter so that he can move freely without anyone’s help.
“I have put all my hopes and faith on the candidate who is contesting the polls. I am sure that with the help of this contesting candidate, I will successfully avail myself three-wheeler scooter so that I can move freely from one place to another without a helper. I want to live an independent life,” he said.
He said that for the last four years he is moving from one government office to another but so far has failed to get the scooter.
“The candidate has assured me that he will help me in availing the same,” he added.
Pertinently, another youth brought Sajad in his lap to the polling station located at Government Higher Secondary School Hakhbara to cast his vote.
