Sopore, April 19 : Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore distributed face masks among the people in the town and advised them to follow precautionary measures in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, The free distribution of masks were carried out by a team of police headed by station house officer Sopore Azim Iqbal.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch SHO Sopore Azim Iqbal said people found in public places without wearing masks were advised to wear it in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases in Sopore and elsewhere in the State so as to guard themselves from getting infected. He said this drive aimed to educate locals about the pandemic and the required precautions.
Meanwhile, Sources said that the Government is seriously considering imposition of weekend lockdown in some districts of Jammu and Kashmir which are worst hit by COVID cases.
