Heavy rains in Gurez, 17 farm animals perish

BANDIPORA, Aug 2: At least 17 sheep and goats perished after a cattle shed they were inside collapsed amid recent heavy rains in GG Sheikh village of Tulail Gurez in Bandipora district

Official sources told Kashmir Despatch that the cattle shed belonged to one Ghulam Mustafa, a nomad from Rajouri Jammu district.

Talking to the Kashmir Despatch over phone, Ghulam Mustafa of Rajouri district whose sheep got killed in this incident said that due to heavy rains last night the cattle shed collapsed in which around 17 sheep and goats were killed.

“We have informed authorities but no one has reached to help us so far,” he added. Official sources while confirming the incident to Kashmir Despatch said that the shed collapsed and the department concerned is looking into the matter.
