Heavy snow damages 17 houses, 10 sheds, over 200 trees in Uri village

Baramulla : At least seventeen houses were damaged due to heavy snowfall in Uri village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said at least seventeen houses, ten sheds, ten cowsheds, over 200 trees were damaged due to heavy snowfall in Nambla village of Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.


The local reports said that due to heavy snowfall many houses got partially damaged . However, no loss of life or injury was reported.


They said that roofs of many residential houses were damaged, besides over two hundred trees were also damaged in the area due to heavy snowfall on Monday.


The locals further said police along with civil admin have later evacuated the affected families to the safer places.


Meanwhile an official told Kashmir Despatch that field staff have been deputed to visit the village to take stock of the situation arising out of heavy snowfall which paralysed normal life with all important service including power, water.


Pertainally , Heavy snowfall also causing damage to some residential houses , shops and sheds in many villages of Sopore which including Reban, Botengoo ,Magraypora , BadamBagh.
