Heavy to Very Heavy Snowfall Expected During 7th-8th January: MeT

Srinagar 05 January : Meteorological department Srinagar on Wednesday said they are expecting a “heavy to very heavy snowfall” during the 7th-8th of this month.

The MeT official, while mentioning about the weather conditions in J&K since yesterday, said that a “heavy to very heavy” spell of another snowfall could be observed in J&K during the 7th-8th of this month.

The official also said that there would be a significant decrease in precipitation from today evening.

However, it was further advised to people not to venture out in avalanche-prone areas and added that “our data shows that most avalanches triggered during intense heavy snowfall (sic).” (KNB)
