Hike in passenger fare will over-burden farmers, poor: Manjit Singh

Date:

Vijaypur, Feb 25: Apni Party Provincial President and Former Minister Manjit Singh today demanded review of the decision to hike passenger fare upto 19 % in J&K.

Addressing an Apni Party leaders and workers meeting at Jard village in Ramgarh, Vijaypur Teshil of Samba District, Manjit Singh said that the Govt should reduce GST on diesel and petrol.
Manjit Singh said, “The hike in petrol and diesel has already escalated the cost of essential commodities. It has directly affected the poor people especially farmers.

“The hike is not in the interest of the common man. The Govt should have adopted a rational thinking before hiking the passenger fare. This has over burdened the common man with additional taxes,” said Manjit Singh.

He appealed to the Govt to review its decision.
“The farmers are not able to bear the passenger fare. How will the factory workers be able to bear the expenses?, He said.
