Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, intelligence agencies, the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and the J&K administration are expected to attend the meeting.
Sources told, that, the Home Minister will take stock of the preparedness of all security and civil agencies involved in ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage. The review will focus on security deployment along the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal, anti-terror measures, convoy protection, disaster management preparedness, medical facilities, communication networks, and other arrangements for pilgrims.
The meeting comes ahead of the annual pilgrimage, which attracts thousands of devotees from across the country. Officials are expected to brief the Home Minister on the overall security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and the measures being put in place to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Yatra.
Special emphasis is likely to be laid on inter-agency coordination, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, surveillance along the pilgrimage routes, and contingency planning to address any potential threats during the pilgrimage period.
The review is said to be part of the Centre’s efforts to ensure comprehensive security and seamless facilities for pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra this year.
