SAMBA: Two youth including a bridegroom who was going to attend his marriage reception here last night died in a fatal car accident at Nanke Chak.
According to reports, a Breeza car bearing Registration Number JK21-G 1311 carrying the bridegroom and his friend was on way from village Lengath to Samba.
After reaching Nanke Chak, it was hit by a speedy trailer bearing Registration Number PB04N 9375 which was on way from Punjab to Jammu. The trailer dragged the car with it to some distance and later turned turtle crushing car under it which resulted in on spot death of two car borne youth including ill fated bridegroom who was going to attend his marriage reception ceremony at Samba on SUnday night.
The deceased were identified as bridegroom, Sushil Kumar, son of Mansukh Dayal of Langath near Nanke Chak, Samba and his friend Romi, son of Ashok Kumar of Nanke Chak. The bridegroom was going to lift his wife from Beauty Parlor at Samba who had gone there for makeup.
But all merry making and jubilation turned into mourning soon after the news of the death of bridegroom and his friend spread. The pall of gloom descended in the marriage reception party and family members, friends and relatives of deceased were in shock.
Reports said that the car was crushed by trailer after it turned turtle and the dead bodies were trapped in the car. They were brought out from the car after hectic efforts of police and Traffic Police personnel who cut the car with cutters to bring out the bodies.
The dead bodies were taken to Samba Hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities by the police. The driver of the trailer is also at large and police has launched manhunt to search him.
The accident resulted into a huge jam on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway and vehicles up to five kilometers were trapped in the jam. It took hours together for police and traffic police to clear the jam and restore the traffic on Highway.
Soon after the accident took place the people of surrounding areas rushed to the spot in panic. They also called police to pull out the dead bodies as the car was crushed beyond recognition by the trailer and the bodies were trapped in it.
Sushil’s marriage ceremony had taken place two days back and on Sunday the family had arranged a marriage reception party at a marriage hall in Samba. ( Agencies)
