Srinagar, Aug 04: Since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a transformation in its security landscape. Civilian casualties have dropped significantly, and militancy-related incidents have sharply declined, marking a new era of stability in the region.
One of the most notable changes has been the shift in the mindset of Kashmiri youth. In the past, many young individuals were misled into militancy under the guise of “jihad.” However, post-2019, there has been a steep decline in recruitment into terror groups. Instead, an increasing number of youths have abandoned the gun culture and reintegrated into mainstream society, pursuing dignified and productive lives.
The revocation of Article 370 has not only altered Kashmir’s political and security dynamics but has also safeguarded thousands of young Kashmiris from falling into the trap of violence.
Over the past six years, these youths have been channeling their energies into education, entrepreneurship, and employment, scripting their own success stories in various fields.
Government initiatives promoting skill development, employment opportunities, and peace-building efforts have further encouraged this positive shift. With improved law and order, reduced terrorism, and a renewed focus on development, Jammu and Kashmir is steadily moving toward lasting peace and prosperity.
The change is evident—once volatile regions are now witnessing normalcy, and the younger generation is embracing a future filled with hope rather than hostility. The abrogation of Article 370 has undeniably played a pivotal role in silencing the guns and paving the way for a brighter tomorrow in the Valley.
Since August 2019, there have been no reported civilian casualties during law and order incidents. This reflects the improved law enforcement and efforts made toward maintaining peace and security in the region.
With the aim of safeguarding interests and ensuring peace in the region, improved security measures have been implemented in Kashmir post-abrogation. This has resulted in a considerable decline in violence and a sense of safety and security among the residents.
The peaceful environment of Naya Kashmir has led to peace and prosperity in the lives of the common masses, with a decrease in the number of terrorists and their followers.
The efforts of security forces not only reduced the number of terrorists but also foiled many attempts of Pakistan to infiltrate this side.
The number of terrorists killed in past six years is a clear indication of peaceful Kashmir.
The story doens’t end here but it begins here and in the last six years the significant positive changes that have taken place in Kashmir post the abrogation of Article 370.
