Overtaking by LMVs creates problem which has resulted in massive traffic hopefully traffic will be cleared within an hour: SSP Traffic

Banihal : The massive traffic jam on Srinagar-Jammu the only highway which connects valley with the rest of the world irked passengers on Monday.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on Jammu-Srinagar national highway as the road in Ramban belt has been blocked due to massive traffic jam.
One of the stranded passenger said that, “People are suffering due to negative policies followed by traffic NHW-44.”
Another irked passenger talking with Kashmir Despatch said that, “Authorities have allowed traffic from both the sides of highway on single and slippery stretch, which causes inconvenience to all stranded people.”
Senior Suprintendent of Police traffic, Shabir Ahmad Malik told Kashmir Despatch that they have allowed two way traffic in view of the stranded passengers on both sides of the highway.
“However, the overtaking by light motor vehicles (LMVs) has created problem which has resulted in massive traffic jam from Banihal to Ramban stretch,” said Malik.
He further said that they are hopeful that traffic will be cleared within an hour so that smooth movement of vehicles could take place.
