Hurriyat activist’s family accuses Forces of harassment

Date:

Anantnag, Jan 18, : The villagers of Wuranhal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district Friday staged a protest against ‘harassment and vandalization’ during a nocturnal raid.

The protesters said that combined forces including Army, SOG and CRPF raided the house of one Haji Abdul Razaq Dar during the dead of the night. “The Forces were looking for Sabzar Ahmed Dar the son of Abdul Razaq who is associated with Geelani led Hurriyat Conference. In absence of Sabzar, the Forces abused and thrashed family members and picked up Ashiq Hussian Dar, the brother of Sabzar,” the protesters told news agency adding that Forces resorted to massive vandalization.

While condemning the Forces action, the protesters appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter. “My son is not a terrorist but associated with Hurriyat Conference. He doesn’t come home and still we were harassed and thrashed in the middle of the night. I want to ask Governor how come he can address the grievances of Hurriyat leadership when he is not able to safeguard the families of Hurriyat activists,” said Haji Abdul Razaq Dar who demand the release of his innocent son.
