“Aim of my reach out to GOI is to seek succour for common man” “if need arises , will form political party”
“I am no one’s agent. For 70 years, they lied to people. It is time to tell truth to people of J&K. If they call me Mir Qasim or Mir Jaffar, let them say. If they allege that i am going to sell Kashmir. Let me clear to everyone. These leaders have sold everything in last 72 years. There is nothing which can be sold anymore, “he told Kashmir News Service.
Bukhari added that he is not someone who sells false hopes and hollow promises, “ My intention of reaching out to GOI is to seek restoration of statehood, securing land and job rights for locals , internet, development, and industrial policy for uplifting economy of J&K.”
Regarding the scrapping of Article 370, 35 A by GOI, Bukhari told news agency, “I feel equally painful as common Kashmiri feels regarding their abrogation. The decision has been challenged in the court. Let us pray the Apex court gives decision in our favour.”
On being asked about the reports that Altaf Bukhari is forming a new political party, he said, “I am in touch with all political parties and leaders. I want to take everyone along. If I fell there is a need to form a political party, definitely I will.”
He added that his intention of reaching out to GOI is to give some relief to a common Kashmiri.
“PSA of 26 persons was revoked recently. Industrial policy is coming up for welfare of people of J&K. Internet will be restored. I am hopeful GOI will take many initiatives for relief of people of J&K,”he told.
Regarding the allegations of PDP that he was always a BJP man, Bukhari said, “If that is the case, then why Mehbooba lost her election. It reflects that people rejected PDP not me.”
He questioned the expulsion of PDP leaders from the party, “PDP leadership is in jail, Political affairs committee is in jail, I don’t understand then who is expelling the leaders”
