Kupwara : International day of sports for development and peace (IDSDP), was celebrated through a volleyball tournament which was organised by Army in BANPURA, TREHGAM.
A total of 07 teams took part in the tournament from various parts of Trehgam Town , organised from 04 -11 April 2021.
Based on knock outs, the final match was conducted between teams from Dolipura and Dhama in which Dolipura team emerged as winner showing great sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
The match was attended by Sarpanch of TREHGAM A and Dolipura locals of BANPURA, TREHGAM
The winners and runners of the tournament were felicitated by Company Commander of Trehgam Company and Sarpanchs.
The Company Commander encouraged the youth regarding power of sport to drive social change, community development and to foster peace and understanding.
Followed by the match a short lecture on Drug addiction among youth and its preventive measures was conducted by Subedar Praveen Kumar, Trehgam Company.
